Shema Yisrael
. . . - This affirmation is at the core of the Jewish faith, and is traditionally spoken at the moment of death and also before bed each night, since we never know if we will wake up. The traditional translation is “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God the Lord is One.” There are many contemporary translations.
